¼ cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder sifted
3 Tbsp (45 ml) maple syrup
1½ cups (350 ml) almond or coconut milk
½ cup chia seeds
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch sea salt
(Optional) ½ tsp cinnamon grounded
Into a mixing bowl add cocoa powder, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, salt, and vanilla and whisk to combine. Then add your choice of dairy-free milk at a time and whisk until it forms a paste. Then add remaining dairy-free milk and whisk until smooth.
Now add Chia seeds and whisk once again to combine. Cover the mixture and refrigerate overnight, or at least for 3-5 hours until the mixture attains a pudding-like consistency.
Pro tip: Stir the mixture after 35-40 minutes into refrigeration.
Serve chilled with your favourite toppings, such as fruits, granola, or coconut whipped cream.
Although best served fresh! Leftovers can be placed in the fridge for good 4-5 days
